In a pivotal step towards enhancing operational efficiency, the ICT department at the University of Embu is spearheading the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, outsourced from an external vendor. This system aims to streamline university operations and integrate all essential functions into a cohesive, data-driven platform.

The University of Embu has implemented an E-voting system to allow students to carry out elections virtually. The system is also available for lease to other Universities to carry out similar student elections. We recently carried out our 3^rd online student election and it was successful with this year having the highest voter turnout with about 33% of the student population voting.

The notable increase in the social use of ICT and its impact is a facet that cannot go unnoted in the education sector. ICT is already becoming a fundamental tool for new lecturers and students in the lecture rooms. We would like to analyze the impact of the use of ICT in education and we will begin by understanding the term ICT.

As Universities continue to look for ways to increase adaptability and reduce costs, automation may provide a solution that can help them achieve both goals. Whether it's chatbots or expense processing tools, advanced software can help universities maximize their resources.
