The University of Embu has implemented an E-voting system to allow students to carry out elections virtually. The system is also available for lease to other Universities to carry out similar student elections. We recently carried out our 3rd online student election and it was successful with this year having the highest voter turnout with about 33% of the student population voting.
Compared to the previous years in 2020 during our first online elections, we had 961 voters, 2021 had 2,362 voters and this year 2022 we had 3,143 voters having the highest number of voters yet. This shows the student body is embracing the new way of conducting elections.
