Ms. Florence Muthoni Njeru joined the University of Embu in June, 2013 and serves as an Assistant Sports & Games officer 1 at the University of Embu, where she offers her skills in Training/ Coaching various Sports and Games, refereeing / umpiring, organizing fixtures and competitions, Writing reports of matches played, conducting fitness programme for the University of Embu Staff as well as assisting in offering first aid during trainings and competitions.
She holds a Bachelor of Science with Education, majoring in Sports Science and Biology from Busoga University, Uganda. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Management and Recreation Exercise Science from Kenyatta University.
Prior to working at the University of Embu, Ms. Florence Njeru worked as a physical education tutor in various Teacher Training Colleges where she gained valuable experience in teaching, training and coaching various sports and games. She was involved in refereeing / umpiring netball and athletics (field events) up to the National levels, in charge of students’ welfare during sports events and an examiner of Primary Teacher Education (PTE) with Kenya National Examination Council; thus, obtaining relevant leadership and team skills.
In addition to her duties, Florence is the Departmental ISO champion, Procurement Liaison Officer, Departmental Integrity Champion, Departmental Committee member for inspection and acceptance of goods, works and services and a co-opted member in the Endowment Fund Implementation Committee.

1. Netball Coaching and Umpiring course facilitated by the Kenya Netball Federation and South Africa Netball Federation.
2. Softball and Baseball Coaching and Umpiring course by the Kenya Little League
3. High jump judge facilitated by Athletics Kenya.
4. Aerobics Instructor Facilitated by Double G Gym, Embu.
5. First Aid facilitated by UoEm
6. Peer Counseling and Peer Education facilitated by UoEm
7. Procurement liaison officer in the Procurement Process facilitated by UoEm
8. ISO Champion in Quality Management Systems and Information Security Management Systems facilitated by UoEm
