The University of Embu staff sports teams continue to actively participate in competitive and friendly sporting events aimed at promoting wellness, teamwork, and staff engagement through sports.
On Saturday, 9th May 2026, the University football men’s team and netball women’s team participated in sports friendlies hosted at Tharaka University. The football men’s team delivered an impressive performance, registering a 2-1 victory against Tharaka University before securing a 1-1 draw against Chuka University staff team, demonstrating great teamwork and determination throughout the matches.
The women’s netball team also showcased commendable resilience and competitive spirit during their matches against Tharaka University staff and Kanjiampau High School, a team that had qualified for the national high school championships. Despite losing 16-8 to the highly competitive high school side, the UoEm staff team displayed admirable performance and determination while competing against younger players at national qualification level.
The participation of staff teams in such engagements reflects the University of Embu’s commitment to promoting active lifestyles, strengthening inter-institutional relations, and enhancing staff well-being through sports and recreation.
