Indoor Games Making Strong Strides at the University of Embu

The University of Embu (UoEm) continues to register impressive growth in its Indoor Games programme, with student-athletes demonstrating remarkable progress across a wide range of disciplines.
In Swimming, the University has recorded significant improvement, highlighted by two students who qualified and competed in the Kenya Aquatics National Championship during the 2025/2026 season. Their participation at the national level reflects the steady rise of UoEm in aquatic sports.
In Lawn Tennis, the women’s team qualified and proudly represented the University at the Women’s Kenya Universities Sports Federation (KUSF) National Championship held at Technical University of Kenya (TTU), showcasing resilience and competitive spirit.
The University remains actively engaged in numerous indoor disciplines, including Table Tennis, Badminton, Karate, Taekwondo, Chess, Scrabble, Rollball, 3x3 Basketball, Woodball, Floorball, Baseball5, Softball, Darts, Pool, and eSports. These sports continue to provide students with platforms to nurture talent, build teamwork, and compete at elite levels.

UoEm also participated in the KUSF Nationals Play-offs A, held from Thursday, 19th February to Sunday, 22nd February 2026 at Kabarak University. The University was represented in Woodball (Men and Women), Scrabble (Men), Swimming (Men), 3x3 Basketball (Men), and Baseball5, further demonstrating its growing competitiveness across disciplines.

In the rapidly expanding field of digital sports, UoEm made a strong mark in eSports by participating in the Kenya University Esports Ranking (KUER) Season 3 Finals, held on 1st and 2nd November 2025 at Zetech University, Ruiru. The University fielded two teams, with one team delivering an outstanding performance to secure 2nd overall position. Each player was awarded a medal and an Infinix GT20 Pro smartphone, underscoring the University’s excellence in emerging sporting arenas.The continued achievements across Indoor Games reflect the University of Embu’s commitment to holistic student development, talent nurturing, and competitive excellence at national levels.
