UoEm Women’s Handball Team Continues to Excel Nationally

The University of Embu (UoEm) Women’s Handball Team continues to demonstrate outstanding performance and consistency in university and regional competitions, establishing itself as one of the institution’s top-performing teams.
The team began the 2025/2026 season on a high note during the Kenya Universities Sports Federation (KUSF) Central Women’s Championship held from 20th to 21st September 2025 at South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU). The women’s handball team emerged as Champions, securing Position One after an impressive display of teamwork, discipline, and determination. Their excellent performance earned them qualification for the KUSF National Women’s Championship.
At the KUSF National Women’s Championship hosted by Taita Taveta University (TTU) from 5th to 8th March 2026, the team once again showcased resilience and high-level competition, finishing in an impressive 2nd Position and receiving a trophy for their achievement. The performance highlighted the steady growth and competitiveness of the team at the national level.
The team also participated in the Mt. Kenya Handball League. The women’s team finished the 2025/2026 league season in Position Two (2), with one of the team’s standout achievements being the recognition of the University goalkeeper as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the season.
In the KUSF Central League, they emerged position 2 qualifying for the KUSF National Playoff B competition held at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) from 26th to 29th March 2026, where the women’s handball team progressed to the quarterfinal stage, continuing to demonstrate the University’s growing strength in competitive handball.
