University of Embu excelled at the 8th KUSF central staff games at DEKUT

The University of Embu participated in the 8th Edition of the Kenya Universities Sports Federation (KUSF) Central Conference Staff Games, held on Saturday, 14th June 2025 at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT). The event brought together university staff from across the region to compete, interact, and promote wellness through sports.

This year’s edition featured a variety of disciplines including Football (Men), Volleyball (Men and Women), Netball (Women), Darts, Badminton, Pool, Chess, Scrabble, and Athletics (100m and 4x100m Relays). It served as an important platform for staff to engage in physical activity, network, and build lasting relationships outside the workplace.

The University of Embu was represented in Football (Men), Volleyball (Men), and Netball (Women). The Football Men’s team emerged champions, securing the first- place trophy after an outstanding performance. The Netball Women’s team also impressed, finishing in second place after competitive matches.

Participating institutions included Tharaka University, Meru University of Science and Technology, Chuka University, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Karatina University, Kirinyaga University, Murang’a University, South Eastern Kenya University,Kenyatta University- Kitui Campus, MKU, KCA University, PUEA, Machakos University, and Embu County (Netball team).

Beyond competition, the event offered a chance for staff to relax, enjoy themselves, and strengthen inter-university relationships. It was a refreshing break from daily routines and reinforced the role of sports in promoting staff cohesion, physical well-being, and morale.
