The Income Generating Projects Unit has three product streams namely ‘Embuni Aquaquench’ bottled drinking water, ‘Embuni Yoghurt’ and ‘Embuni Cleaning solutions’.
These products are produced and packaged in the following production areas within the University.
- Water Bottling Unit
In a bid to reduce the cost of purchasing bottled water for internal consumption in offices, meetings, and conferences, this Unit produces the 500ml and 18.9L purified ‘Embuni Aquaquench drinking water.
- Cleaning Solutions Production Unit
The Unit has got six products namely;
- General Purpose Liquid Detergent. This is premium environment friendly general purpose detergent for cleaning surfaces, clothes and utensils (Available in; 1L, 5L and 20L Lemon, lavender, strawberry and apple fragrances.
- Hand Wash. High foaming gentle cleaner with a pleasing lavender fragrance for washing hands and its available in 500 mls, 1L,5L and 20L.
- Instant Hand Sanitizer. This is an Alcohol-based disinfectant for hands and surfaces with instant sanitation. It is available in 500 MLS, 1L, 5L and 20L.
- Disinfectant. Low foaming cleaner for general cleaning and sanitizing in and around the house. It is available in 1L, 5L and 20L.
- Bleach. A deep cleaner that whitens, brightens and removes stain from white clothes and surfaces. Available in 1L, 5L and 20L
- Carpet and Upholstery. Professional high foam deep cleaner for carpets, upholstery and cars. Available in; 1L, 5L and 20L
- Yoghurt Processing Unit
The Unit is responsible for processing yoghurt which is in Strawberry and vanilla flavours. The available packages are in 250ml, 500ml, 1L and 5L. This Unit will continually identify opportunities for investment and cost reduction for the University and monitor the performance of all income-generating projects sustainably.
