The University of Embu on Thursday, 4th June 2026, hosted a delegation of four officials from Hand in Hand East Africa on a courtesy visit aimed at exploring potential areas of collaboration. The delegation was led by the Embu Branch Manager, Mr Christopher Mwaniki, and was received by the Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Prof. Kennedy Ocharo.
During the meeting, the visitors were taken through the University's key milestones and achievements since its establishment. Discussions focused on opportunities for partnership in areas of mutual interest, including aligning community-centred programmes with the University's academic and outreach mandate, undertaking joint community engagement initiatives for the benefit of surrounding communities, and collaborating on applied research to address local development and environmental challenges.

Other proposed areas of collaboration included exchange programmes for accelerated members, as well as knowledge-sharing initiatives through seminars, workshops, conferences, and public forums aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development.
