A team of researchers from the Agri-food Systems and Entrepreneurship Consortium (ASEC) paid a courtesy call to the University of Embu on Tuesday, 4th November 2025. The delegation, led by the TAGDev 2.0 Programme Coordinator, Prof. Nancy Mungai, and Dr. Virginia Njuguna, was warmly received by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Research and Extension, Prof. Paul Nthakanio.

ASEC has partnered with the University of Embu and the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) under the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to meaningfully contribute to Africa’s Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) initiative.

Established in 2016, the TAGDev programme completed its first phase (2016–2024) and launched its second phase in July 2025. The ongoing phase is being implemented in 15 universities across Kenya, impacting over 800 beneficiaries, including 68 persons with disabilities. The project is domiciled at Egerton University and the University of Eldoret, with implementation at the University of Embu spearheaded by Dr. Rebecca Yegon and Dr. Hezron Isaboke.
