The  UoEm Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Daniel Mugendi hosted the First African Principal, Embu Institute of Agriculture, Dr. James Peter Mbandi who paid him a courtesy call on Monday 27th October, 2025.    Dr. James Peter Mbandi was accompanied by his spouse, Hon. Mary Mbandi, his son, Mr. Silvester Mbandi and his nephew, Mr. Lawrence Muimi Mbandi.  He served as the Principal of Embu Agriculture Institute from 1972-1976.
