Basic Needs Basic Rights Kenya & UoEm Meeting

A team of 4 Senior Officials from Basic Needs Basic Rights Kenya paid a visit to the UoEm on Tuesday 20th May, 2025. The team was led by: Board Chair, Mr. Allan O. Oginga; the Program Manager, Mr.Geoffrey Khira; Partnership Officer, Mr. Musa Gathuru and Logistics' Officer, Mr. Martin Mungai. The inaugural meeting  came after an MoU that was signed between the two Institutions sometime in November, 2024. 
Basic Needs Basic Rights Kenya is a Public Benefit Organization that was established in the year 2005 and their headquarter is in Kangemi, Nairobi. Their major focus is on Mental Health Wellness especially in Education Institutions. They have been working with 5 Universities  impacting more than 18, 666 University staff and students directly.  More than 7,885 students have directly benefited from psychosocial interventions that they have deployed. They are  currently running a programme dubbed," Youth First Kenya" with more than 30 schools in Embu East.
