The Department of Teaching Practice and Practicum conducted a Mentor Training Workshop for student-teachers on Monday, 23rd March 2026, at Charter Hall. The session was designed to equip teachers with essential skills and knowledge to effectively mentor students from the School of Education and Social Sciences ahead of their Teaching Practice scheduled for May 2026.

The training attracted over 70 teachers from Embu County and the surrounding regions, providing a platform for engagement with zonal coordinators, a guided tour of the University, and a visit to the model classroom. Key areas covered included roles and responsibilities of mentors, professional preparation, lesson modelling, and the use of assessment tools.
