Department of Public health was started in the year 2017. Our core duty is to ensure general wellbeing of staff, students and visitors. The department draws its mandate from the existing public health act (2012) among other acts of parliament to establish and maintain learning and working environment free from diseases and other events of public health concern.
We are committed to preventing disease and the health consequences of environmental hazards; promote behaviours that reduce the risk of communicable and non-communicable diseases and injuries, and ensure the access to quality public health services.
