Short Biography:

Gladys Atambo is an experienced Human Resources executive with a portfolio ranging from human capital management, policy formulation, strategic thinking/planning, succession planning and change management.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (HR Major) from Catholic University of East Africa and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Moi University and is a full member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).

She has a deep commitment to working in a collaborative, transparent and inclusive manner, which allows her serve as a link between the Management and the employees. She is a highly motivated and result driven individual, exceptional communicator with a consultative approach with experience in providing team effectiveness and leadership development.

Ms. Janice Mwende Nyaga is a Senior Administrative Assistant at the University of Embu attached to the Human Resource Department.

Ms. Nyaga’s over a decade’s professional experience includes strategic human capital management, employee development, employee relations, reward and recognition, talent acquisition management, employee motivation and professional development in the field of Human Resource that enables the University to grow and thrive.

Prior to working at the University of Embu, Ms. Nyaga was an Administrative Assistant at Kenyatta University, Human Resource Department where she gained valuable knowledge on human resource programmes including leadership, staffing, employee relations, recruitment and employee training and development.

As a Senior Administrative Assistant, Ms. Nyaga is committed to providing strategic guidance on all aspects of human resource functions for establishing a vision for the full complement of core human capital programmes, policies and services that promote effectiveness in the workforce while supporting the long-term success of the University of Embu.

Edna Wangari is an enthusiastic and innovative professional with more than a decade wealth of experience in office management including human resource, logistics and training. Having held positions in the IT, Business and Education fields, she is able to tailor her skills to meet the ever-changing client’s needs. Her passion is finding solutions with the aim of meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations.

She primarily handles administrative duties related to departmental internal and external corresponds, performance appraisals, training and development, labour relations, staff welfare, departmental strategic planning among other duties. When not in the office, she is an ardent fan of sports and a Basketball coach. Training:

Mr. Peter is an Information Scientist specializing in Records Management. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science from Karatina University and a Diploma in Archives and Records Management from Kenya School of Professional Studies. He has attended various seminars and workshops in the area of records management including Electronic Document Management system (EDMS) conducted by RIMEA and Records Management workshop conducted by NIPK.

Mr. Peter started working in 2007 as a Registry Clerk at Kirinyaga Water and Sanitation Company and later moved to University of Embu as a Registry Officer in 2013. He is a trained implementer and Auditor of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 27001:2013. He was involved in setting up of both systems in the University and has participated in various Audits.

Mr. Josphat Ireri holds a Diploma in Information Science with 8 years of working experience specializing in Records and Archive Management. He has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and planning skills, is hardworking, a team player, and a dedicated professional. Mr. Josphat previously worked at Kenyatta University where he gained immense experience in processing and handling documents, retrieval, archiving and record management systems.

Ms. Monicah Wangechi Kariuki is a Data Entry Clerk II at the University of Embu (UoEm) in the Human Resource Department (Payroll Administration Section) with over 10 years’ experience in Payroll Administration. Ms. Monicah previously worked at Kenyatta University, Finance Department (Payroll Section) where she gained experience on competency with spreadsheets, familiarity with Payroll Software, tax procedures, benefits and other wage deductions among others. As a Data Entry Clerk II, Ms. Monicah is detail-oriented, professional and maintain confidentiality aimed at promoting maximum effectiveness in the workplace while supporting the long-term success of the University.

Florence Karimi Njue has been working at the University of Embu since 2013 and is currently a clerk in the Human Resource Department. She holds a Certificate in Archives and Records Management from Embu College. She is committed to providing administrative support to the Human Resource Department which keeps the office running smoothly and efficiently. She endeavours to provide excellent customer service to clients and above all teamwork. Her responsibilities include but not limited to; maintaining files, managing office supplies inventories, handling inquiries and incoming work requests, typing documents and correspondence among others.

Ann Muthoni is a messenger in the Human Resource Department. She holds an O Level Certificate from Siakago Girls High School. She has diligently served the University of Embu for over one year. She is God fearing, has excellent organizational and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, dedication to accuracy and a team player.

Mr Simon holds a Bachelor’s Degree of economics from the University of Embu. He is CPA 2 holder and a member of Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA). He has strong analytical skills and good acumen for problem-solving.
