SENATE AFFAIRS OFFICE – MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SENATE AFFAIRS

The University of Embu Senate is in charge of all academic programmes in the University and any other academic affairs. The Senate is tasked with approving programmes of study, regulating admission of persons to the University, determining the continuance or discontinuation of such persons in their programmes and setting the conditions for qualifying for conferment and awards of degrees and diplomas among many other functions as mandated by the University of Embu Statutes. Members of Senate include the Vice-Chancellor, members of the University Management, all Deans, Directors, Chairmen of Departments and representatives from the Student Association (UESA).

The Senate Affairs Section is tasked with coordinating all the affairs of Senate including meetings, activities and events such as the graduation, retreats, regular senate meetings and Senate Board of Examiners meetings. The Section plays a key role in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of Senate by scheduling the meetings of Senate and its Committees as well as securely keeping its records.  The Section is housed under the Academics, Research and Extension Division of the University.

As a Section, we are proud to contribute to the continued success of the University of Embu and welcome all visitors to the website.
