The University of Embu (UoEm) on Monday, 11th November 2025, hosted Ms. Dorcas K. Wainaina, OGW, who delivered a keynote address during a Career Mentorship Session organised by the Department of Career Services, under the leadership of Dr. Marylin Rono.

The event, held at Charter Hall, targeted finalist students and featured an Empowerment Talk themed “From Gown to Town – Thriving Beyond the Graduation Stage.” The inspiring session served as an eye-opener, helping students explore the opportunities available in the job market and understand what employers seek in prospective candidates.

Topics discussed included Workplace Communication Norms, Use of AI Tools, Investing in Marketable Micro-Credentials, Building Professional Networks, Crafting a Winning CV, Preparing for Job Interviews, and Developing Job-Hunting Skills.
