Short Biography
A seasoned and professional Administrator with over 15 years’ experience in various industries. She holds a Master’s Degree from Kenyatta University, MBA (Strategic Management), a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration(HR) from KeMU and a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from Strathmore University. Currently serving at the University of Embu in the capacity of a Senior Administrator in the Office of the Registrar(PAF), she is the Alternate Chairperson of the Environmental, Health & Safety Committee, Secretary to the University Staff Choir Committee and the Patron to the students’ Environment Club. Her work revolves around working with the Registrar (PAF) to develop the infrastructural work plan, monitor the implementation of the infrastructural projects within the University, allocation of offices/spaces, planning and holding various departmental and committee meetings, writing reports and minutes. Other duties include formulation of the departmental objectives, budgeting and procurement plans, risk register management and implementation of ISO Standards. Instrumental in organizing International Conferences at the University. Participates in environmental issues; policy, audit, clean up, tree planting and plays a key role in organizing the National World Environment Day and other international and national events every year in conjunction with NEMA and the County Government of Embu. She has served within the University of Embu in various capacities in the following Departments; Quality Assurance Office before Chartering of the University, Senate Affairs Office upon the Chartering of the University, Department of Humanities where key focus was on addressing students’ academic issues (career guidance, postgraduate seminars, registration of units, credit waiver processing among other student requests), staff matters (employee relations, processing of staff requests and part-time payments), facilitation of the curriculum development process, among other administrative duties.
She has also served in the Industrial sector as a Marketing Officer, in the banking sector, TVET sector as a Trainer and Principal of a Private College, and in a Private University. She is a member of a registered NGO (TWILN) based in Embu. The organization fundraises to feed needy families, supports education and health related initiatives/workshops, as well as supporting vulnerable groups in Embu County.
Possesses strategic/human resource management skills, up-to-date technological skills, public relations, diplomacy and collaboration skills, she is able to form lasting collaborations through professional networks. Her achievements are founded on strong Christian values and a rich professional career background.
