Vice-Chancellor`s Message

Welcome to University of Embu (UoEm). The University is an academic institution committed to generating and transmitting knowledge, skills and right attitudes through Science, Technology and Innovation for the benefit of humanity. The core mandate of the University is to teach, conduct research, innovate and collaborate, generate new knowledge and provide Community Service.

The Vice-Chancellor is the accounting officer and the Academic and Administrative head of the University and is answerable to the Council for maintaining and promoting the academic efficiency, image and good order of the University. The Vice-Chancellor is responsible for policy matters, planning, and coordination, public relations, fund-raising and general development of the University. By virtue of the office, the Vice-Chancellor is a member of every committee appointed by the Council or Senate, unless otherwise expressly provided. The Vice-Chancellor is the Chairperson of Senate, Chairperson of Associate Professorial Appointments Committee, Chairperson of the University Management Board and Secretary to the University Council.

At the Vice-Chancellor’s office, we work in unison and as a team, we are focused to deliver the mandate of the University. Our aim is to achieve the vision of the University through its laid down mission. It is my hope that this website will be used as a tool to effectively disseminate the necessary information about the office and the University of Embu at large.
